With the new prudsys RDE Release 3.3, prudsys AG has taken another massive step towards a retail recommendation engine that works completely in real-time. In the new release of the prudsys Real-time Decisioning Engine (abbreviated to prudsys RDE), the focus was in particular on the functional completion and networking of all RDE modules and the integration of new innovative algorithms and procedures in order to expand the application range of the prudsys RDE.
Focusing consistently on the vision of developing the first retail recommendation engine that works in real-time, when developing this new RDE release prudsys AG concentrated in particular on networking all of the RDE modules with each other and expanding the functions in order to open up additional innovative scenarios.
Networking the modules produces new business cases
The original module prudsys RDE | Data Cleansing, which was renamed RDE | Search as early as the last RDE update on the basis of a clear function description, can now be organically networked with the RDE Recommendation module and new search functions were added. This will in future enable transaction-based and self-learning article search.
The RDE | Scoring module was networked even more closely with the Recommendation module in order to support scoring-based personal navigation.
Numerous standard templates and test templates facilitate operation
The RDE | Recommendations module was supplemented to include numerous pre-defined templates for articles, categories and shopping basket pages as well as customised MyShop pages; it thus facilitates closer integration of personal recommendations from various shop pages. The shop operator can decide for themselves whether they want to use the pre-defined templates, modify them or only use them as samples.
In addition to standard templates, so-called A/B test templates were also integrated in order to test different template configurations against each other. Automatically generated statistics then compare the performance of one’s own templates against those of the A/B test templates. The shop operator will therefore find the right settings for the best results in his shop quicker.
New business cases for dynamic pricing
The focus of the RDE | Pricing module development was above all on the use of new business scenarios. It will therefore be possible in future to modify the purchase and sale prices of used items to market events with the aim of maximising the revenue or contribution margin. The new version of the pricing module also allows the automatic classification of products into elasticity groups, providing dynamic pricing in a much easier form in particular for products with little historical data such as in the long-tail.
