Julian Assange Keynote-Speaker at ConventionCamp on 27 Nov in Hanover

Julian Assange will hold Keynote at ConventionCamp in Hanover, Germany #cch12

Hanover, 21 Nov 2012. Today, one of the largest internet conferences in Germany, the ConventionCamp in Hanover (#cch12), has announced the keynote speaker for next Tuesday. Julian Assange will give a speech on Meta Change. 1,500 visitors are live on site in the Convention Center on the exhibition grounds. At the internet-(non)conference the key issues „Future TV“, „Beta Culture“, „SoLoMo Insights“, „Smart Life“ and „Meta Change“ are discussed. The keynote on Meta-Change is given by Julian Assange via live stream. Those who want to be part of it and might want to twitter directly from the conference hall, can get a ticket at www.conventioncamp.de .

Why Julian Assange?
Ingo Stoll, organiser and managing director of the agency neuwaerts: „The internet and the digital revolution have initiated a fundamental change in our society. The established institutions have already been struggling for a long time for their retention of power in being the opinion and interpretation leaders. So far, nobody has challenged these institutions as much as WikiLeaks and in person Julian Assange. Who else could be more suitable for speaking about our key issue of the „real change“ far away from Twitter, Facebook, etc.? We are interested in his vision of the future society. And we believe that with his disputatious views he will not only make the 1,500 attendees step out of the comfort zone of their own thoughts.“ The keynote is part of the opening session followed by an exclusive interview.

Why at the ConventionCamp?
The ConventionCamp is one of the largest future conferences in Germany and a think tank for issues for the future. Unlike other events the ConventionCamp combines convention and spontaneous barcamp: Approximately half of the agenda is determined, the remainder will be fixed by attendee decision in the opening session. The #cch12 starts on Thursday 22 Nov with a web week and culminates in the ConventionCamp on Tuesday 27 Nov 2012.

A new culture of innovation is one focus of the organisers in Hanover. These are the communication agency neuwaerts as well as the joint organisers Aufgesang Public Relations | prdienst.de, agency for up-to-date PR; foresee, humanactive spaces, and t3n, specialist journal for Social Media, Web 2.0 and e-commerce.
